about me

I am a public English translator who graduated from the Faculty of Languages of the National University of Córdoba, Argentina. I have more than 20 years of experience as a translator and more than 10 as a conference interpreter. I have perfected myself in the following areas:

In the seven years I lived in Brazil, I took a specialization course in conference interpretation at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, where I trained in my three working languages:

  • Language A (native): Spanish

  • Language C (advanced proficiency): Portuguese

Thanks to my profession, I have worked in countries such as Uruguay, Mexico, Brazil, Germany, Austria, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Spain, and the Netherlands.

I have been living in the Netherlands since 2017 and am enrolled in the Rbtv (Register beëdigde tolken en vertalers, Official Register of Sworn Interpreters and Translators of the Netherlands) under number 20573.

As a translator:

I translate official documents from Spanish to English and from English to Spanish. My accreditation by the government of the Netherlands makes my translations legally valid before all Dutch authorities.

As an interpreter: I interpret (orally translate) speeches or lectures in real time, while the audience listens to me using specialized sound equipment or dedicated platforms.

As a translator, I offer:

These are translations of documents of a public nature, i.e., they can be submitted to official and government organizations. They carry my signature and my seal as a translator registered in the Netherlands (English to Spanish and Spanish to English) and I carry them out in strict compliance with the formalities established by Dutch law. As a translator, I attest to what has been translated and I take ethical and legal responsibility for my work.

A private or simple translation is understood as one that is not sworn/certified. It is the translation of texts in the fields of advertising, literature, science and other technical areas.

Interpretations

As an interpreter, I offer:

In this case, I wait for the speaker to finish an idea or a phrase and then translate it. I have special training in note taking and memory techniques, which allows me to remember and faithfully translate extensive passages. I recommend the use of consecutive interpreting when working in small groups and when a more personalized touch is required (business meetings, press conferences, interviews, teleconferences, and personal meetings).

Simultaneous interpretation is the “real-time” translation of what is being said. In other words, I deliver the translation (interpretation) as I Iisten to the message. This mode of interpretation demands a very high degree of concentration, which is why professionals always work in teams of two, in a soundproof booth. Thanks to its speed, this is the chosen modality for conferences and meetings where there are many attendees and a lot of information is shared.
